Learning Beyond Books, Growth Beyond Marks

Jayotri Academic Innovations

Our innovative academic practices aim to build confident personalities, nurture creativity, strengthen communication, and prepare students for real-life challenges.

1. Communication Period

A dedicated daily Communication Period encourages students to speak, present ideas, and participate in discussions. This regular practice builds confidence, improves fluency, and develops strong public speaking skills from an early stage.

2. Reading Circle

Reading Circle brings students together for reading, discussion, and sharing of ideas. It helps develop comprehension skills, enrich vocabulary, and cultivate a genuine love for books and literature.

3. BREW – Book Reading Every Week

Through BREW, students read books every week, developing consistency and curiosity. This initiative strengthens imagination, independent thinking, and builds lifelong reading habits.

4. Reading Mentors

Students who complete books become Reading Mentors and visit other classes to recommend or narrate interesting parts of stories. This promotes peer learning, leadership skills, and inspires others to read.

5. Reading Chain

Each time a student finishes a book, a new link is added to their Reading Chain displayed on the bulletin board. As chains grow longer, students feel motivated and proud of their reading journey.

6. Community Connect

The Community Connect instills discipline, empathy, responsibility, and social awareness. Students learn values and develop qualities required to become responsible citizens.

7. Tidy Titans

Through Tidy Titans, classes earn stars for cleanliness, discipline, and organization. This friendly competition promotes healthy habits, responsibility, and teamwork among students.

8. Student Self-Assessment Portfolio

A reflective documentation portfolio that encourages students to identify their strengths, recognize areas of improvement, and plan strategies for continuous growth. It promotes self-awareness, responsibility and goal-setting.

9. Appreciation Circle

A recognition platform that celebrates diverse strengths, positive qualities, efforts, and individuality beyond academic performance, ensuring every child feels valued, noticed, and encouraged.

10. Student Lens

Student Lens is a classroom initiative where students share their prior knowledge, ideas, and real-life connections before beginning a new chapter. This 5-minute discussion encourages curiosity, confidence, critical thinking, and active participation in learning.

11. Career Compass

Career Compass is our student-led podcast where we host inspiring professionals from diverse fields for meaningful career counselling sessions. Our students lead the conversations, and gain real-world insights that help them explore career paths.

12. JOJO the Mascot

Jojo is the cheerful mascot of Jayotri Academy, created to bring learning, creativity, and positivity closer to children in a fun and engaging way. Through Jojo, students connect with activities, celebrations, and school experiences with greater enthusiasm, making everyday learning more joyful and memorable.

13. UDAAN

Udaan is the annual school magazine of Jayotri Academy that provides students a platform to express their ideas, creativity, and perspectives through poems, stories, articles, artwork, and more. Published consistently every year since 2015, it reflects the voices, imagination, and growing confidence of young learners.

14. Fun-damentals Lab

Fun-damentals Lab is a special learning space at Jayotri Play School designed for our youngest learners in Nursery, LKG, and UKG. Combining fun and foundational learning, this lab houses educational toys, activity kits, and teaching aids, alongside smart-class technology, making early education both engaging and immersive.

15. Learning Experiences Diary

Learning Experiences Diary is a thoughtfully designed blend of lesson planning, daily classroom monitoring, and activity-based learning records for Jayotri Play School. It integrates class-wise activities categorized by developmental skill sets, each connected with specific teaching aids and educational toys from the Fun-damentals Lab — helping teachers conduct structured, engaging, and purpose-driven learning.
